Jantje Beton - Jul '11
Jantje Beton is a Dutch foundation that provides the right circumstances for inner-city children to play outside; carefree, close to their homes and under safe conditions. For the next four years the foundation focuses on this matter, working together with local government, local partners and the children themselves, to create safe and clean playgrounds in several Dutch cities. When looking at the possibilities for playing outside, children take on the role of researcher and advisior. For the city of Den Helder, Maartje van Nimwegen works together with a group of children in finding a nice and colorful solution to the obstacles and celebrate the joy of playing outside.
Ignite 9, Mediametic - May '11
Ignite is fast-paced and merciless, but most of all they're fun, thought-provoking nights, full of fresh ideas and clever insights. Speakers get five minutes to present their idea. Sizzer One Euro Party - May '11
The Sizzer Amsterdam ADC One Euro Party! The party took place Friday May 6th at Tanzhaus West in Frankfurt am Main and was supported by production company 100% Halal. Maartje van Nimwegen came up with a 1 EURO bill concept, designed the flyer and used this for the money machine photography. In this picture Germans Next Top Model Jury Member: Rolf Scheider. The One Euro Party - May '11
The Sizzer Amsterdam ADC One Euro party will be held in Frankurt, next friday; entrance fee will be one euro, as well as all the drinks (whether it's beer or your favorite cocktail) will be only one euro. Together with photographer Daniel Cohen (presented by 100% halal), Maartje van Nimwegen will set up a photography project. The One Euro Bill will be the main focus. See you in Frankfurt!
De Optimist in Gonzo - Apr '11
Since the ambitions of digital cultural magazine De Optimist are bigger than the interent itself it has made its paper debut! For the Dutch-Flemmish magazine Gonzo (circus), De Optmist created a 12-page appendix around the theme 'Utopia'. The appendix features short stories, essyas, photography, an interview and poetry by talented Dutch writers and artists. On sale in Holland and Belgium in March and April 2011. Dag van de Dialoog - Nov '10
"De dag van de dialoog" took place November 4th, 2010. One of the locations was 25 meter underneath the Rokin in the construction well of the Noord/Zuidlijn. Eight people talked about the way they give color to the city Amsterdam. Wyne Veen & Maartje van Nimwegen made pictures of this talk. They will be published in PQP magazine.

Kamermans Kermis - Oct '10
‘Kamermans Kermis’ is a new, multidisciplinary cultural event organised by De Balie (a ‘playground for cultural progressives, Dutch digital cultural magazine De Optimist and American DVD-magazine Wholphin. During three nightsin the fall of 2010 film, literature and science are combined in attempt to discuss ordinary themes in an extraordinary way. All the visuals for this event were created together with Artur Schmal.
